I’ve worked as a Certified Financial Planner for over 30 years in England and the US, helping my clients to achieve their hopes and dreams. During that time, I’ve seen how divorce can disrupt couples’ plans for their shared future and potentially dash hopes of financial security. Therefore, in 2009, I became a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst in order to help those facing impending divorce to navigate the often complex process of splitting finances. Because divorce can be devastating emotionally, it is important to me to be a source of solace, helping clients to regain confidence in their financial future. My ultimate goal is to facilitate the transformation from feelings of helplessness to a brighter vision of life after divorce.
The opportunity that Second Saturday offers to facilitate and promote education that leads to a less stressful - and perhaps even mutually beneficial - divorce is most compelling. I want to empower people through this education and advice with the hope that they achieve an equitable divorce, and I think this workshop is the launchpad to do just that.
For over 15 years, I’m proud to call Kentucky my home with my wife, three adult daughters and a delightfully rambunctious grandson.

Dr. Jan Anderson is a licensed clinical professional counselor with a doctorate in clinical psychology. She has been in private practice working with individuals, couples and families in Louisville, Kentucky since 2000.
One of the things that’s different about Dr. Jan is her corporate business background, which led her to do her master’s internship working with corporate professionals in the process of a job search or career transition — including how to network, create a resume, handle interviews and negotiate job offers.
Dr. Jan then reinvented herself with her own career transition — She left the corporate world to start working on her doctorate in clinical psychology. During that time she started her own business teaching mindfulness-based practices, including meditation, yoga and mindful eating and did volunteer grief counseling at a local hospice.
Dr. Jan’s doctoral thesis explored five evidence-based ways that people develop resilience — how to get grip, get back up and go on when someone hurts or harms you.
She is the featured mental health columnist for M.D.Update magazine, writes a popular blog and is the author of two audio collections of guided mindfulness-based practices, available on iTunes and Amazon.
Dr. Jan uses her diverse background and evidence-based approaches so her clients can attract and build relationships that are good for them, handle difficult people without becoming part of the problem, and spend more time enjoying life.
